Scottish International Football Honours photographs
This is a picture of International football Caps which are awarded to all players who make an appearance for their country, whether they start or come on as substitutes. The tradition of awarding caps goes back to the beginnings of the modern game of soccer (football) in the 19th Century, when caps were an important part of the strip. Players provided their own jerseys and pants, so caps (and sometimes socks) were the only way of telling teams apart. Naturally, these would be issued to players before the match began
